No, our pieces do not contain nickel.
Akoya pearls are a type of saltwater cultured pearl famously cultivated in the ocean waters of Japan. They are known for their superior, mirror-like luster and almost perfectly round shape.
Their naturally occurring colors typically range from white to grey, often exhibiting delicate overtones of pink, silver, or green.
The harmony between the ribboned texture from the mitsuro wax and the Akoya pearls make the combination one of our favorites to make.
With proper care, solid precious metal jewelry can be worn and cherished for generations.
To ensure your pieces remain radiant and durable, regularly clean your jewelry by mixing warm water with a few drops of mild phosphate-free dish soap. Soak the jewelry for 10-15 minutes and gently scrub with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly with clean water before patting it dry with a soft cloth.
Remove your jewelry before swimming, cleaning, or applying beauty products to avoid exposure to harsh chemicals like chlorine and bleach.
Store your pieces separately in soft pouches or jewelry boxes to prevent scratches and tangling.
Pieces with Akoya pearls should be treated particularly gently. Like all pearls, Akoya pearls are sensitive to chemicals and scratching. After wearing, wipe pearls with a soft, clean cloth to remove oils and residues. For occasional deeper cleaning, use warm water with mild soap and a soft cloth. Never use ultrasonic or steam cleaners, as these can damage pearls.
By following these steps, your jewelry will maintain its beauty and luster for years to come.
